The Israel Institute of Technology (TECHNION) is Israel 's primary technological university and largest center of applied research. Ranked among the leading technological universities in the world, numerous innovations in all fields have their origins in research at the Technion. All Technology Transfer & research activities of Technion staff operations of the Technion are handled by the Technion Research & Development Foundation ltd.

The Computer Science (CS) department at the Technion consists of more than 50 professors, spanning all areas in the core of computer science. The quality of research pursued in the Technion CS department is well known worldwide. About 800 students graduate each year from the department, including about 70 MSc and 35 PhD. The department graduates are known to be the "best of breed" in the country and abroad.
